Yu Yu Hakusho’s New OVA to Adapt Manga’s Penultimate Chapter

Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump dropped new details about the upcoming Yu Yu Hakusho 25th anniversary animation.

The anime will adapt two manga chapters: “Two Shot” and “All or Nothing.” “Two Shot” is a bonus chapter that tells how Kurama and Hiei first met. “All of Nothing” is the manga’s second-to-last chapter shows the cast reuniting to solve a hostage crisis in the spirit world.

Studio Pierrot and director Noriyuki Abe (Boruto: Naruto Next GenerationsGTO: Great Teacher Onizuka) will return to create the OVA. The anime’s original cast will also be reprising their roles. The OVA will be bundled with the fourth volume of the anime’s 25th anniversary Blu-ray box set, which ships on October 26.

Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter, wrote the Yu Yu Hakusho manga in 1990, which ran for 176 chapters in Weekly Shonen Jump. The series follows Yusuke Urameshi, a 14-year-old delinquent that becomes a spirit detective following his death.

Studio Pierrot produced the classic 112-episode anime adaptation, along with 6 OVAs and two movies.
