Popular Light Novel ‘Young Again in Another World’ Gets Anime this Fall

Isekai fans have a new series to look forward to as MINE’s [New Life+] Young Again in Another World (Nidome no Jinsei o Isekai de) light novel series is getting an anime.

MINE first launched the series on the Shousetsu ni Narou website in January 2014, where it has earned over 189 million page views. Hobby Japan has been publishing physical editions since November 2014, and they feature illustrations by Kabocha. The light novel’s 18th volume will ship this Thursday.

Young Again in Another World stars Renya Kunugi, a 94-year-old man who is ready for death. After dying, he confronts a girl who claims to be God and she has a request: smuggle interdimensional resources into another world. God tempts Renya with a new 18-year-old body and ridiculously powerful skills, but he accepts the job due to the chance to eat exotic foods. After agreeing, Renya wakes up in a strange new world possessing awesome powers, but he’s not sure if he’ll survive.

Young Again in Another World

Director Keitaro Motonaga (School Days Jormungand) is directing the adaptation at Seven Arcs Pictures (Trinity Seven). Scriptwriter Takamitsu Kouno (Gabriel DropOut) is penning the story alongside Touko Machida (Chaika the Coffin Princess), Koujirou Nakamura (Mobile Suit Gundam Twilight AXIS), and Chabo Higurashi (Memories of 3.5). Makoto Takahoko (Fastest Finger First) is designing the cast.
