Kogami Turns Line of Meat Sauce Into Moe Anime Girls

Japan loves to anthropomorphize every-day objects as moe girls. We’ve seen anime and manga turn all sorts of bizarre objects into cute girls, and cities even turn themselves into cute mascots.

Now, it’s pasta meat sauce’s turn to be hit with the Japanizing Beam. Kogame unveiled two mascots to promote a line of meat sauces, and they went with a fairy theme for the duo.

The first character, Napoli-tan, was first introduced last year to promote the popular Naporitan pasta dish.

Napoli-tan is a fairy “born to fill everyone’s hearts and bellies” with Naporitan pasta. Her costume is reminiscent of the dish. Haruka Yoshimura (Ema Yasuhara in Shirobako) will voice Napoli-tan in an upcoming event.

Miito Sousui is Napoli-tan’s newly unveiled rival.

She’s a spirit that was born to show off the powers and wonders of meat sauce. Maaya Uchida (Rikka Takanashi in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions) will voice Miito Sousui.

Napoli-tan, Miito Sousui, and their voice actresses will appear at the Chou Ryouri Booth at this year’s Nico Nico Choukaigi event.

Majored in Music @Duke, but realized that being a Jazz singer wasn't a real job. Now I spend my days watching anime and writing about the music industry. Glad to be in the new round of GB hires. Look forward to my coverage.
