Isekai stories have never been more popular than they are now. We’ve seen young adults transported to alternate worlds following a death or strange spells only to be thrown into an adventure.

Almost all of the stories involve our hero keeping their bodies or becoming younger – until now! Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime) is getting an anime this fall. As the title implies, it’s about a man turning into a slime monster.
Writer Fuse and illustrator Mitz Vah launched the series in 2014 and have worked on 11 volumes so far. Fuse originally wrote Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken as a free web novel, which was serialized on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from 2013 to 2016. The series has 4.5 million copies in print.
Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken focuses on Satoru Mikami, a lonely 37-year-old who is killed by a robber. Satoru finds himself reincarnated as blind slime monster possessing unique abilities. After meeting “catastrophe-level” Storm Dragon Verudora, he adopts the name of Rimuru Tempest with the goal of becoming the strongest slime in the universe.
More details about the anime adaptation will be shared at a later date.
