Controversial ‘Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs’ Gets Anime

It looks like it’s been leaked that Tadahiro Miura’s supernatural ecchi series Yuuna and the Haunted Springs (Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san) is getting an anime thanks to the “Production Committee” copyright registering on the site for December’s Jump Festa event. You might remember the Yuuna name from the sexy controversy the manga caused earlier this year.

The special is being created for Jump Festa ’18, which is an annual Shueisha trade fair.

Yuuna and the Haunted Springs has been called the “successor to To Love-Ru!” by genre fans. The story centers around Kogarashi, a teenage boy who can see and banish ghosts. He moves into a haunted boarding house, which was once a hot springs inn. While relaxing in the hot springs, Kogarashi learns that his roommate is a ghost girl trying move onto the afterlife. After offering to help Yuuna, the other female tenants begin to share their supernatural secrets with Kogarashi.

Jump Festa usually includes a variety of special episodes for existing Jump anime and shorts for non-adapted manga. Black CloverWorld Trigger, and Food Wars! all had Jump Festa specials before getting a TV anime adaptation.

A production committee has been listed for Yuuna and the Haunted Springs, but an animation studio wasn’t named. The special will premiere on December 16th to 17th.
