Kadokawa began streaming the first PV for the anime adaptation of Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka? (What do you do at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us?), or SukaSuka for short.
SukaSuka is a fantasy light novel series written by Akira Kareno and illustrated by ue. The story is set in a world where humans have been driven to extinction by an enemy called “Beasts.” Surviving mythical races have created floating islands, which are out of reach of the Beasts. However, the Fairies are destined to fight the Beasts with the aid of holy swords called Kariyon.
One day, a human named Willem wakes up from a 500-year sleep and meets a girl group of fairies called Leprechauns. Unable to fight, Willem becomes a father figure to girls and nurtures them when they come home from battle.
SukaSuka was launched in 2014 and ended in 2016 with five volumes. Kareno and ue are currently working on a sequel a series.
Jun’ichi Wada (The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan director) is directing the series with studios Satelight (Macross Delta) and C2C (Aquarion Logos) co-producing the animation, with series creator Kareno overseeing the scripts.
SukaSuka is going to premiere on April 12 and will run for 12 episodes. Are you planning on watching the series?
