Madhouse began streaming the first trailer for their original movie Kimi no Koe o Todoketai.
The music-based movie centers around Nagisa Yukiai, a high school girl who lives in the seaside town of Shōnan. Nagisa’s grandmother tells stories about spirits called kotodama, which live in words. One day, Nagisa finds an abandoned FM radio station and she impulsively acts like a DJ. However, her voice is accidentally broadcasted and unexpectedly reach people.
Last year, Madhouse held auditions to recruit new voice talent to be a part of the main cast. Suzuko Mimori (Umi Sonoda in Love Live!) is the only experienced voice actress in a main role. She will be voicing Shion Yazawa.
Kimi no Koe o Todoketai will be directed by Naoyuki Itou (Overlord director), written by Manabu Ishikawa (Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta), and the music will be composed by Akito Matsuda (Sound! Euphonium).
Kimi no Koe o Todoketai will debut in Japan on August 25, 2017.
