9 Famous People Who You Wouldn't Have Guessed Like Anime

It's an unfortunate fact of life that not everyone loves anime. That, however, is not the case with these celebrities who share our interest in animation hailing from Japan!

Lets take a look at nine famous people have shown their affections with pride.

1. Robin Williams

Robin Williams flaunted his love of anime on several different occasions, including in his movie One Hour Photo. In his Reddit AMA, he mentioned he liked Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the ShellAkira, and Blood: The Last Vampire in addition to Neon Genesis Evangelion. May he rest in peace.

2. Tobey Maguire

The main man behind the first set of Spiderman reboot movies is a massive Robotech fan, and by massive I mean such a huge fan that he actually acquired the rights to the series with his production company and has a new movie in the works.

3. Zac Efron

Also rumored to be a fan of some Shonen Jump manga, Zac Efron has talked about loving Death Note and the possibility of playing the lead character Light in an adaptation.

4. Christian Bale

We've talked about him before because he voiced Howl in the English dub of Howl's Moving Castle. So it's not too surprising that Bale is a fan of Miyazaki films.

5. Keanu Reeves

We almost got to "see you space cowboy" with Reeves. He is a fan of Cowboy Bebop and he was passionately working on a new adaptation with himself as main man Spike. Unfortunately, the project fell through.

6. Kanye West

There have been many public outbursts of Kanye's love of anime. In fact, when he debuted his album Graduation, he ran hentai in the background...

7. Quentin Tarantino

As a fan of both Blood: The Last Vampire and Ghost in the Shell, he personally asked Production I.G. to do the animated scenes for Kill Bill

8. Hayley Williams

The lead singer of the band Paramore mentioned in an interview that she went with her now signature orange hair because she wanted to look like an anime character. Heck, she even cosplayed as Saya from Blood: The Last Vampire on stage as seen above.

9. Hulk Hogan

He likes Pokemon, and that makes sense seeing as he is basically Machoke.

I have a massive soft spot for fantasy and mech anime. When I'm not failing miserably at trying to teach myself Japanese in my free time, you can probably find me playing League of Legends or DotA. Also, I'm as much a Gear-head as I am a weeaboo. Gendo did nothing wrong.
