Actress and singer Yumi Hara is quickly becoming a big name in the anime industry. Since debuting in 2011, Hara’s roles have included:
- Takane Shijou (The iDOLM@STER)
- Yuuko Kanoe (Dusk Maiden of Amnesia)
- Maryelle (Log Horizon)
- Lilith Asami (Trinity Seven)
- Albedo (Overlord)
Due to a busy schedule and an increase in large roles, Hara told fans that she’s putting her music career on hiatus to focus on voice acting. Her YOU&ME album will be her last for now when it releases on March 14.
Hara first began voice acting in 2011 when she was cast as Takane Shijou for The iDOLM@STER franchise. She has voiced the character in the series’ games and anime adaptations, as well as performing songs in-character. Hara has also performed songs for Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, Shomin Sample, Corpse Party: Tortured Souls, and Trinity Seven.
Hara’s solo music career began in 2012 with the single “Hanabi,” and her first album was released in 2013. Her latest single, “If you…” was released on January 25th, but didn’t receive much chart play.
Hara’s next anime roles will be staring as Jun Takahashi in Ramen Daisuki Koizuma-san and reprising the role of Albedo in Overlord II.
