Publisher Kawade Shobo Shinsha began streaming an anime promo for Yuusuke Yamada’s Boku wa Robot Goshi no Kimi ni Koi wo Suru (I Fall in Love with You Through a Robot) novel. The promo is not an anime announcement.
Yamada is a popular novelist in Japan, with many of his books, like Asoko no seki and The Chasing World, being adapted into live-action movies. I Fall in Love with You Through a Robot is Yamada’s first new novel in four years.
The story is set in 2060, with Tokyo prepping for its third Olympics. A national secret project has developed life-like A.I. robots, but a company receives a terrorist threat. Takeru is one of the project’s members and is sent to fight the terrorist group, largely because he fell in love with a woman named Saki. She, however, has feelings for a robot.
A-1 Pictures produced the promo, and they are going to release a “full version movie” that will be screened at 1,700 Japanese bookstores on October 21st. The two main characters were voiced by Kana Hanezawa and Miyu Irino.
