13-Year-Old Girl Makes Her Manga Debut Drawing Ecchi

A mangaka’s debut is always an exciting moment! Are we witnessing the early work of the next Rumiko Takahashi? Will this mangaka’s work win awards and anime adaptations? And then there is this 13-year-old middle school student. Shion Sakamaki can tell her friends, parents, and teachers that she is now an officially published mangaka.

Amaku Nigaku Mitashite

Her debut work Amaku Nigaku Mitashite (Fulfil Me Sweetly & Bitterly) has been picked up by Shogakukan’s Cheese! magazine. It’s a shoujo publication that focuses on more mature relationships and a dash of smut. Not only is Tanaka published, but she’s already writing more mature stories than her peers!

Amaku Nigaku Mitashite stars a 17-year-old high school student named Shiori. She wants to confess to a crush, but Shiori doesn’t know how. After some thought, she decides to lay her body on another guy, just to get a quick experience. However, this gesture may lead to the two becoming friends with benefits…

That’s some spicy stuff. Sakamaki is now the youngest mangaka to make her debut in Cheese! We’ll have to wait to see if she also becomes the youngest to win Shogakukan’s Newcomer Grand Prize. Ran Tokiwa won the award at 14-years of age in 2015.
