‘Yu Yu Hakusho’ to Get a New Animation For 25th Anniversary

Attendees of Jump Fest caught wind that a new Yu Yu Hakushu animation is being produced!

The new animation is going to be packaged with the 25th anniversary Blu-ray release of the classic 1992 anime. Shueisha hasn’t revealed the format or content of the new animation.

Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter, wrote the Yu Yu Hakusho manga in 1990, which ran for 176 chapters in Weekly Shonen Jump. The series follows Yusuke Urameshi, a 14-year-old delinquent that becomes a spirit detective following his death.

Studio Pierrot produced 112-episode anime adaptation, along with 6 OVAs and two movies.
