Uramichi Oniisan is the community’s newest obsession. The comedy series has been a hit for highlighting the struggles many young adults face under the facade of a children’s education program.
Gaku Kaze’s web manga has been nabbing awards since its 2017 debut, and while an anime hasn’t been announced, Kodansha has cast big-name voice actors to promote the third volume in a new commercial.
That’s right, if (or when) an anime is announced, you expect these guys to bring the unstable cast to life. Here’s the dream team talent:
- Hiroshi Kamiya (Levi in Attack on Titan) as Uramichi Omota.
- Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki Sakata in Gintama) as Tobikichi Usahara.
- Mamoru Miyano (Rin Matsuoka in Free!) as Iketeru Daga.
- Yuuichi Nakamura (Gray Fullbuster in Fairy Tail) as Mitsuo Kumagai.
The series stars the staff of “Maman to Together,’ an educational program for children. However, the young adult staff is completely done with life and host Uramichi Omota frequently breaks out of character to doll harsh lessons to the young children. Where else are you going to find a broken man talking about the realities of rent and fake relationships while maintaining a smile?
Kodansha would be foolish not to commission an anime in the future, but it may take some time since there are only 20 chapters so far. In the meantime, let’s hope this thing gets a licensed release.
