Marvelous has begun promoting the anime adaptation for Tokyo Ghoul:re, which will debut in 2018. Natsuki Hanae will reprise his role as Ken Kaneki, but the rest of the cast and staff are to be determined.
Sui Ishida’s action-horror series has been an international hit since he launched it in 2011. Tokyo Ghoul focuses on college student Ken, who is turned into a half-ghoul after a life-saving operation following an attack. Ken must cope with becoming a ghoul, which includes hungering for human flesh while keeping his identity a secret.
Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul was serialized from 2011 to 2014 for 144 chapters. Tokyo Ghoul:re, which is a sequel, began serialization in 2014 and currently has 143 chapters.
While the production staff wasn’t announced, Studio Pierrot has been involved in all Tokyo Ghoul related anime projects. More Tokyo Ghoul:re details will be announced at a later time.
