Fans of Hachiman’s cynical view on youth, love, and social relationships only have one more book to read.
That’s right, the final OreGairu book will be published in November — bringing an end to a fan-favorite series. Last year, author Wataru Watari told fans that he was working on the final arc.
OreGairu has a huge global fanbase, thanks to presenting a more cynical take on the rom-com genre and Hachiman’s relatable snarky personality.
Hachiman feels that “youth” and “love” is a crappy lie peddled by hypocrites. After presenting his views in a class essay, he is forced to join the school’s Service Club to help students with their problems. He attempts to use his cynicism to bring out the world’s true intentions, but he slowly realizes that not everyone is wearing a social mask.
OreGairu has a two-season anime, three manga adaptations, and two visual novels.
