The 10 Manga Japanese Fans Demand to Get an Anime Adaptation

AnimeJapan is one of the industry’s biggest trade conventions. It’s a time were manga publishers treat fans to news of anime adaptations and game tie-ins, but they can also get a read on what fans are buzzing about!

Every year, a poll is held where fans vote for the manga they wish to see adapted into an anime. The poll doesn’t mean an adaptation is a sure thing, but it certainly has some weight to it. Here are the top 10 vote-getters!


1Daigo the Beast: Umehara Fighting Gamers!

Mangaka: Maki Tomoi (Story) / Itaru Orikasa (Story) / Kengoro Nishide (Art)

Genre: Action / Game

Quick Pitch: Real life pro-gamer Daigo Umehara is a legend in the fighting game community. The manga explores Umehara’s early career stage as a novice playing at Japan’s many arcades and facing off against other pro-gamers like Shinya Ohnuki.


2Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu

Mangaka: Itaru Bonnoki

Genre: Comedy / Supernatural

Quick Pitch: A vampire hunter learns of a mansion that belongs to a serial kidnapping vampire, and he vows to slay the beast. Upon arriving, the hunter learns that the vampire is actually a wimp and that the “missing” children are using the mansion as a playground.

Quick pitch: Ageha Yoshina is a teen who helps others for a price. One day, he finds a calling card with the word “Psyren” on it and notices that his classmate Sakurako Amamiya has one. Quick Pitch: After the end of the Third Holy Grail War in Fuyuki, an organization from the United States plans their own ritual based on collected data. After seventy years of planning, the group selects Snowfield as the site for their Holy Grail War. Their incomplete imitation of a grail starts to summon strangely Servants and ignores the Saber class. The definition of “hero” has also been blurred.

Quick Pitch: Magical Law Executioner Toru Muhyo and his assistant Jiro Kusano track and deal with ghosts based on client requests. An anime adaptation was recently announced.

10The Promised Neverland
