‘Sword Art Online: Alicization’ Anime to Have an 1-Hour Long Debut

Fans living in the world’s largest anime markets are going to be treated to an hour-long premiere of Sword Art Online: Alicization.

Sword Art Online: Alicization

Japan, the United States, France, Australia, Germany, Russia, and South Korea will host premiere events of the first episode. The Japanese event will take place on September 15 at the Tokyo International Forum Hall C. However, the other event dates haven’t been announced yet.

Sword Art Online: Alicization will debut in October, but the premiere events will take place before the TV debut.

Sword Art Online: Alicization is the light novel’s longest story arc and is a departure from its shounen-styled action past. The arc focuses on Kirito waking up in a strange land that is simultaneously foreign and familiar. He has no recollection of how he got to Underworld, which is a place that residents refuse to break any laws. However, his influence on a girl named Alice changes the land’s society.
