Author Gakuto Mikumo and illustrator Manyako launched Strike the Blood in May 2011, and they have produced 18 volumes so far. The action-fantasy series follows Kojou, who is the world’s strongest vampire, and his observer Yukina. Kojou’s powers attract friends and foes, but his reluctance to drink blood prevents him from fully controlling his powerful familiars.

Silver Link and Connect co-produced a 24 episode TV anime that aired in the fall 2013 season. Two additional OVA season were produced by the same production team: Strike the Blood: Valkyria no Okoku-hen is an original story and Strike the Blood II adapting the “Swords-Shaman of Shadow” through “Knight of Sinful God” arcs.
