This winter’s adaptation of Kaguya-sama: Love is War is shaping up as an early crowd pleasure. The witty rom-com won’t air until this January, but the production news has fans hyped.
A-1 Pictures is producing the anime, and while they can be inconsistent, they tend to hit home runs with their rom-coms. Forays into the genre include Working!!, Servant x Service, Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend, and Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku.
Shinichi Omata (Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu / Sankarea: Undying Love) is directing, Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Shiawase Restaruant) is writing the scripts, and Yuuko Yahiro (Haikyuu!! Season 3 / Tokyo Ravens) is designing the cast and serving as the chief animation director.
The staff is looking nice, but the production committee hasn’t revealed the voice cast yet.
Kaguya-sama: Love is War follows two elite students who are too awkward to confess their feelings to each other. They think that the person who confesses first loses the power in the relationship so they both try to pretend not to care. What follows are the bizarre mind games they play.
Are you looking forward to Kaguya-sama: Love is War?
