Naruto Voice Actor Hikaru Miyata has Passed Away

Voice actor Hikaru Miyata has sadly passed away at the age of 87 while at a Tokyo hospital on Sunday at 6:45 am JST. The cause was an acute aortic dissection. A funeral service will be held on September 30th with his wife Fumiko as chief mourner.

Miyata was well respect for his as Homura Mitokado (pictured above). His other major anime roles include Shogun in Heat Guy J and Dred Barton in The Maiden Diaries, with minor roles as Raymond de Saint-Gilles (Code Geass: Akito the Exiled), Alsac (Gungrave), and the Board Chairman (Monster).

Hikaru Miyata is well known for his roles in many Japanese TV shows and films, however, in the anime industry, he’s known for playing Homura Mitokado in the Naruto series among much other anime such as Monster, Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, and Gungrave.

However, Miyata made his greatest impact acting and hosting various live-action shows, with Yuugure Zoku being his most impactful role.
