OKAYADO has told fans that he is taking an indefinite hiatus to focus on his mental health. While no return date is planned, he hopes to resume Monster Musume as soon as possible.

OKAYADO took several breaks last year to plan the compiled releases for Monster Musume, and this seems to be his first health-related break. The manga’s 61st chapter was published on August 30 — which could be the final chapter for a while.

OKAYADO’s Monster Musume has won the hearts of readers for its combination of monster girl ecchi, social commentary, and slap-stick humor. The series began as a collection of hentai short-stories on Pixiv before transforming into a mainstream harem-comedy.

OKAYADO’s 12 Beast, which is a fantasy-action series about ninja apprentice saving a race of monster girls from extinction, will also enter hiatus.
