‘Kemono Friends’ Anime Producers Prefer Bust Sizes Over Experience

Kemono Friends is one of the greatest surprises in recent memory. The low-budget anime was originally commissioned to promote a smartphone game, which was canceled just before the anime’s premiere.

This obstacle didn’t stop Kemono Friends from winning the hearts of fans — both humans and penguin. Due to the viral success of the anime, the production committee would be foolish not to produce a second season.

The production team is holding open auditions for vocal roles, but the application form is raising eyebrows.

The form asks standard questions, like for the applicant’s name, address, and age. However, things get wild when it shifts to bust, waist, and hip measurements — which are required fields. Oddly enough, past vocal experience and academic history are optional! That’s right, your bust size, and not any past experience, is required if you want to land a role on the Kemono Friends anime.

The anime’s producers are searching for voice actresses that will be integrated into an idol unit, but the lack of interest in any past experience is quite telling. There is an emphasis on mainstream ideas of beauty over talent — or the idol unit is going to be way more important than the anime.
