Entergram revealed that a special version of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou is coming to the PS4 next year!
The game will include the original story, the Hinamizawa Teiryuujo side story, and the Kamikanshi-hen arc. It features new character sprites drawn and an expanded cast drawn by the series’s original artist Ryukishi07.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is regarded as one of Japan’s top horror stories. It revolves around a plague of murders that occurs in a rural village of Hinamizawa in the summer of 1983. Keichi moves to the village from the big the city, and he notices that his classmates act strangely during an annual summer festival, which causes him to investigate into the village’s history. The results are deadly.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni has received numerous anime adaptations from Studio DEEN, culminating with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Outbreak airing in 2013.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou was released in English by MangaGamer for the PC. There has been no confirmation if the PS4 version is being released in English, which is identical to the Steam version.
