Shonen Jump issue 9 will be released on January 29th and issue 10 on February 5th. New issues are usually released every Monday.
In the manga industry, a story’s climax can refer to its final chapter or an arc’s “high point.” Shueisha hasn’t stated if this will be Gintama‘s final chapter or a lead into epilogue chapters.
Sorachi began working on the popular samurai/science fiction/parody hybrid series in 2003. The story follows Sakata Gintoki, who was once a feared samurai in the Joi War, but an alien invasion that led to a ban on swords has forced him to become an errand boy. Together with Kagura and Shinpachi, the trio runs various errands (and avoid copyright infringement) to pay their rent.
Gintama‘s finale also marks an end to Weekly Shounen Jump‘s 2000 era, which was also home to Bleach and Death Note.
