‘Gintama’ Anime Announces Plans for Final Arc

This time, Gintama‘s “final arc” is for real.

The anime has joked numerous times about the series’ potential ending and theoretical cancelation. In fact, 2013’s Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya was written as the anime’s finale. But Gintama still lives on…but not for much longer.

Mangaka Hideaki Sorachi has been writing the final “Silver Soul Arc” since July 2016. The arc is still on-going, but Sorachi has said that it will serve as the series’ ending.

While the anime is currently adapting previously skipped comedy stories for the Porori-hen season, it’s already been announced that they will adapt the “Silver Soul Arc” next. The production committee will share more details next week, but it can be a massive hint that the manga is coming to an end soon.

To build up the hype, the arc’s opening and closing songs were announced. “Katte ni MY SOUL” by DISH will serve as the opening and “Hana ichi monme” by Burnout Syndrome will be the ending.

Are you prepared for Gintama‘s final arc?
