Gambling Anime ‘Kakegurui’ Raises the Stakes With a 2nd Season

Fans of high stakes gambling, extreme facial experiences, and delightfully cruel characters can rest easy knowing that Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler is getting a second season.

YonkouProductions first broke the news on Twitter that the psychological series will have a sequel – you can now ignore that anime original ending! Staff, cast, and story details will be shared at a later date.

Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler is a manga series created by duo Homura Kawamoto and Toru Naomura. The story is set in Hyakkaou Private Academy, an institution that only admits the wealthiest students. A student is not judged by their academic achievements or athletic ability, but by their skill at high-stakes gambling. The student council rules with an iron fist, but transfer student Yumeko Jabami is going to show them what real gambling is.

MAPPA produced a 12-episode adaptation that ran during the summer 2017 season. Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler is also getting a live-action TV series that will premiere on January 14.
