‘Dorohedoro’ Manga is Getting a Horror-Comedy Anime

It was supposed to be impossible, but it’s happening — Dorohedoro is getting an anime adaptation!

The announcement is in the latest issue of Monthly Shonen Sunday, which used to publish the monthly series. That’s right, Dorohedoro ended a few months ago and it’s final collected volume is shipping on Monday.

Not many concluded manga get adaptations, so Dorohedoro‘s anime is a pleasant surprise. The series has 167 chapters, but Shogakukan didn’t state if Dorohedoro will get a complete adaptation. In fact, the publisher hasn’t shared any production details.

Q Hayashida launched the horror/comedy/science fiction series in 1999. It follows Kaiman, a man who is cursed with a lizard’s head after a magic attack. With some help, he embarks on a quest of biting wizard heads to find the person that is responsible for his cursed life.

Dorohedoro has won a large fandom due to Q Hayashida’s world-building, quirky cast, gritty art style, and a keen ability to juggle between comedy and horror.
