Sora Amamiya is only 24-years-old, but she is in high demand. The idol seiyuu has been juggling a singing and voice acting career, but she may have to put some projects on hold due to a throat injury.
The official website for the idol unit TrySail confirmed that Amamiya was diagnosed with inflamed vocal chords (chorditis vocalis). The good news is that the injury doesn’t need surgery and the inflammation should go down with some rest.
Amamiya canceled her appearance in the “SECONDSHOT FES GirlsMembers 2018” event on Saturday, but she tried to participate in a TrySail concert the following day. According to attendees, Amamiya was dancing on stage but she wasn’t singing during the performance. Despite this, her solo is set to commence on July 15 at the Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall in Kanagawa.
Amamiya is a rising star in the anime industry who has been cast in comedic and serious roles that show off her range. Some of her characters include Aqua (KonoSuba), Akame (Akame ga Kill!), Touka Kirishima (Tokyo Ghoul), Elizabeth (The Seven Deadly Sins), and Miia (Monster Musume).
Amamiya and TrySail have performed songs for Eromanga-sensei (closing), Interviews with Monster Girls (opening), Koyomimonogatari (opening), and High School Fleet (opening).
