Parodies are a type of comedies that imitate other works or other genres with exaggeration for comedic effect. They are rarely mean-spirited, so fans of what is being parodied often laugh along with the jokes.

Anime is home to some funny parody series, and often times they can be considered the best work of the genre they are parodying! Here are some of the best examples.


Gintama parodies everything! Popular manga, old school anime, their own production, and real-world events, nothing is safe from Gintama ‘s grasp. The series also has emotional moments and great fights, so it has something for everyone.
