‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ Fan Sells Rare Cards for Daughter’s Education

Yu-Gi-Oh! fans can be intense when it comes to collecting cards and building decks for matches. You never know when you’ll need a specific card, so it’s best to hold onto it or trade for a better card. One Yu-Gi-Oh! fan decided to trade in four rare Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards for his daughter’s education.

Twitter user @KnightMiyabi sold his prized possessions after watching his daughter play with his other cards, which inspired him to sell the four Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards so she could get into a good kindergarten and have savings for later education.

The English versions of Blue-Eyes White Dragons are fairly common since they’ve been included in numerous Kaiba starter decks, but the Japanese versions were among the first “secret rare” cards. Around 1,000 of them were printed and distributed at a special event at the Tokyo Dome.

@KnighMiyabi didn’t reveal how much he made, but he Tweeted that no collector would sell one of those cards for less than 600,000 yen ($5,235).
