Ichijinsha snuck the announcement in a trailer promoting the manga. There are no further details related to the film, other than that it exists.
Fujita launched the best-selling manga in 2014 on pixiv, which then got picked up by Ichijinsha in 2015. Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku follows a group of adult otaku trying to pretend to be functioning members of society. When not working at an office, Narumi (a secret fujoshi) and Hirotaka (a secret gamer) try to maintain an awkward relationship.
A-1 Pictures produced an 11-episode anime that aired in April 2018.
