Popular voice actress Hisako Kanemoto shocked fans by announcing that she’s taking a year-long hiatus. The hiatus isn’t due to a health issue, and instead, Kanemoto is studying abroad.
Kanemoto wrote that she desires to see a broader world and wants to deepen her outlook on life. She shared that she was always interested in studying abroad and has made the decision due to her fans’ and agency’s support. Kanemoto plans to resume voice acting in March 2019.
Kanemoto is one of the industry’s most recognizable leading ladies, having starred in at least 75 different series since debuting in 2010. Her most popular roles include Erina Nakiri in Food Wars! Shokugeki no Souma (she replaced Risa Taneda in season 3 due to health issues), Sailor Mercury in Sailor Moon Crystal, Kanata Sorami in Sound of the Sky, Kuri Orihara in Durarara!!, and Hoshino in Girls und Panzer.
