The Hollywood Wonder Woman movie is going to open in Japan on August 25. While she is a mainstay in American pop culture, Warner Bros. is turning towards anime and manga artists to help introduce the character to Japanese fans.
The effort is being called “Wonder Woman Creators Collaboration,” and the official website has some sweet art from the industry’s biggest names.
Sushio (Kill la Kill)
Yoji Shinkawa (Metal Gear)
Yuko Yamaguchi (Hello Kitty)
Akemi Takada (Patlabor)
Shingo Adachi (Sword Art Online)
Warner Bros promises that more art from different artists will be created between now and the movie’s premiere. Of course, that’s not stopping fans from sharing their own anime-inspired Wonder Woman art on social media.
