Toonami to Replace One Piece With Tokyo Ghoul on March 25

March 18 will be last time One Piece airs on Toonami.

Adult Swim’s Toonami anime block announced that One Piece is being removed from their programming schedule and will be replaced by Tokyo Ghoul starting on March 25. Toonami has been airing One Piece since 2013 and they began airing with episode 203.

Jason DeMarco, Co-Creator and Producer of Toonami, took to Twitter to talk a little bit about One Piece leaving.

 

Tokyo Ghoul will be joining Dragon Ball SuperDragon Ball Z KaiHunter x HunterJoJo’s Bizarre AdventureGundam Unicorn RE:0096Naruto: Shippuden, and Ghost in the Shell on Toonami.

Tokyo Ghoul is a dark fantasy series created by Sui Ishida. It follows Ken Kaneki as he adjusts to becoming a half-ghoul, which is a species that feeds on human flesh. He tries to keep his new identity a secret from his friends while navigating the world of ghoul society.

Studio Pierrot adapted Tokyo Ghoul into a 12 episode anime in 2014. An anime original sequel also aired in 2015. Both series were licensed and dubbed by Funimation.
