Tatsuki’s ‘Keifuku-san’ DVD Delayed Due to Massive Fan Support

TATSUKI became a household name after directing Kemono Friends. Some fans were worried about the future of TATSUKI’s career after Kadokawa removed him from Kemono Friends, but it looks like he’ll be just fine!

Shortly after releasing a promo video for Hentatsu, fans flocked to Amazon to pre-order TATSUKI’s Keifuku-san short. The fan response was so strong that the anime was the top ranking DVD on Amazon’s bestseller list, which includes non-anime competitors!

TATSUKI was caught off guard and thought that Amazon might have been experiencing a bug. It turns out that Amazon is having trouble keeping up with fan demand and is putting a hold on accepting pre-orders. Keifuku-san will also be delayed to a February 19 release date to make sure enough discs will be produced in time.

Keifuku-san is a five-minute short produced by TATSUKI’s new irodori studio. Kemon Friends art director Yuuko Shiromizu and Kemono Friends animation director Yoshihisa Isa are the studio’s other two members.

Keifuku-san is available for free on irodori’s Youtube channel, but fans are snapping up the 3,400 yen ($31) DVD release as a way to support the indie group.
