“Shakugan no Shana” Light Novel is Getting a New Story

Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko Magazine revealed that they will be publishing a new Shakugan no Shana story. It’ll be the series’ first new story since 2012.

Writer Yashichiro Takahashi and illustrator Noizo Ito began working on Shakugan no Shana in 2002 and finished the main series in 2011. In total, 22 volumes and 4 short story volumes were created, with the final short story being published in 2012.

Shakugan no Shana is a supernatural series that follows a boy named Yuji Sakai and a girl named Shana. Invaders from the Crimson Realm come to Earth looking for the Power of Existence. Possession of this power grants the owner total control over reality. A group of warriors called Flame Hazes tries to stop them. Sakai is an unfortunate casualty of a battle, but he vows to stay with a Flame Haze he names Shana.

J.C. Staff adapted Shakugan no Shana into a three season anime, which includes the light novel’s ending. Five OVAs and one anime movie were also produced.
