Eromanga-sensei is the latest anime from the creators of Oreimo. It follows a high school student who is also a light novel author and his step-sister, who is his lewd illustrator. The series was controversial the moment it was announced and has only gained notoriety since its first two episodes aired.
>Oreimo's shit protagonist is now an official government mascot
>The japanese government is funding that shit eromanga-sensei series

But, is it as bad as some people claim? We’ll let the anime do the talking!
The greater the haters = the successful your are. DUH!!
>Just a little bit more!
Words every hikikomori live by.
There are times when Eromanga-sensei touches on themes of isolation and sense of community.
Eromanga-sensei does have a heartwarming feel underneath the meta jokes and loli pandering.
But we’re mainly here for the dick jokes!
FYI, she’s 12.
Where are the adults?
Nice try, FBI.
When did Eromanga-sensei become a horror anime?
Megumin is quite the savage.
Masamune x Panties
And yet, he obsesses over his step-sister’s panties.
The humanity! How will Masamune live?
Eromanga-sensei is one of those shows you’ll either love or hate. The semi-incestuous relationship between Masamune and Izumi is more humor based compared to Oreimo. Some people will argue it’s not “real incest” since they are step-siblings, but it counts in most jurisdictions.
Eromanga-sensei does have more loli pandering than Oreimo. The fanservice is less skin based, and more on camera framing (they love Izumi’s midriff and butt), which could be a plus or minus for some people.
Your enjoyment is going to be based on how well you take the incest (which is fairly light so far) and loli pandering (which is less skin based, and more on framing). So far, Eromanga-sensei has some nice humor and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (voice of Masamune) does a nice job conveying pain during the slapstick scenes. The cast is also way more likable than Oreimo‘s, which is a pleasant surprise. Eromanga-sensei has potential to be a good, heartwarming comedy!
