After a long day of shopping and sightseeing in Akihabara, you're bound to want some place to kick back and relax. And what better way to do so than surrounded by gobs and gobs of anime memorobilia? Welcome to the Good Smile Cafe in Akihabara, where you dine on themed meals, look at all the shiny things, and spend even more money on stuff once you're done!

If you are not familiar with the Good Smile Company, then allow me to provide a bit of background. Good Smile are the manufacturers and purveyors of many fine anime goods, not the least of which are highly-detailed scale figures. Their other popular line of products are the Nendoroid chibi figures which are so popular amongst figure collectors. If you click on the above link, you'll get a pretty good idea of their entire catalog.

Now, someone had the brilliant idea one day to incorporate the company's massive line of products into a dining and entertainment establishment. And lo, the Good Smile Cafe was born! As of this moment, I believe that three such cafes exist. The first cafe to open is located in Matsudo City. The second location, and the one featured in this article, is located in Akihabara, Tokyo. Finally, Good Smile has opened a cafe recently in Taiwan.

Every so often, the cafes will switch their theme: this involves changing the items on the menu, the decorations around the restaurant, and the goods available to purchase. Usually, the theme will be focused around two or three popular anime. The goods available in the shop section reaches through Good Smile's entire catalog, however. When I went two weeks ago, the theme was YuruYuri, Tari Tari!, and Sakura so no Pet na Kanojo. Past themes include Black Rock Shooter, Fate/Zero, and Madoka Magica, among others. If you would like to take a look at the schedule, just head on over to the website! Now, since pictures often speak louder than words, enjoy the photo tour!

And I ordered this: The "Akarin Desert Set." Yum!

I was able to draw a random YuruYuri pin for ordering of its menu. Jealous Sakurako!

Oh yah, and the coffee drink came topped with panties. Nothing to see here.

Manga available for your reading pleasure!

Fans of YuruYuri will immediately be able to recognize this abomination. Chinatsu probably shouldn't quit her day job.

And I'll just leave you now with an autographed Kyuubey...
