Apparently, Japan's having a giant Gundam isn't enough - the box needs love too! That's the best theory I can come up with to explain this, anyway.

This giant Gunpla - Gundam model kit - box is hanging out around the South Gate Plaza of Osaka City Station this week. The box belongs to the Real Grade RX-78-2 model - or would if such a massive version of that model were available. It is apparently intended to promote Gundam model kits, though it really begs the question: why the box? It does have a display of various assembled kits inside, which is cool, and I supposed that this is attention-grabbing, so perhaps here we have another example of Japan being one step ahead and uh...diagonally to the left of the average person's thought process.
