No Game No Life: Zero

No Game No Life: Zero is the latest anime film to make a splash at this year’s box office, managing to crack the top-100 at Japan’s box office. Sentai Filmworks licensed the movie and held a limited theatrical screening in the U.S. in October.

No Game No Life: Zero adapts the sixth volume of the light novel series, which is set 6,000 years before the main story. The Great War is consuming Disboard, and a young man named Riku dreams to lead humanity to a better tomorrow. In the ruins of Elf City, Riku meets an “Ex-machina” called Shuvi, who asks Riku to teach her what it means to have a human heart.
