The final episode of Natsume Yūjin-Chō Go announced that a sixth season is being produced! Titled Natsume Yūjin-Chō Roku, the new season will debut in 2017.
Not many anime receive a second season, never mind thinking about a sixth! Natsume's Book of Friends has been animated since 2008, and currently has 63 episodes and 2 OVAs, which is a big achievement considering most anime only get 13 episodes.
The original shoujo manga is a slice of life series that centers around a boy named Natsume. He has the ability to see ghosts, and is shunned by society because of this skill. One day, Natsume inherits a Yūjin-Chō from his grandmother, which is a book of contracts made to trap ghosts. With the book in hand, Natsume sets on a quest to release the ghosts from their contracts.
Basically, the series is a super chill slice of life story with yokai and other spirits. You'll laugh and you'll cry as Natsume navigates the ghostly world and learns some lessons on how to deal with people who are close to him.
Shuka will return to produce the new season. Have you gotten into Natsume's Book of Friends?
