Fuji TV held an event for their Noitamina anime block and revealed that a new Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress anime will air in 2018. Wit Studio and director Tetsuro Araki are back for the project, but they are keeping quiet on the details.
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress aired during the Spring 2016 season, and was a hit in Japan for blending the tense atmosphere of Attack on Titan, a survival-horror story, and some shounen action.
The story takes place on an island called Hinomoto. Humans live in fortresses to that protect them undead monsters called Kabaneri. One bite is enough to turn a person into these creatures, which cannot be killed due to their steel hearts.
Wit Studio is also producing a two-part compilation movie and are working on drama CD, which continues the story where the anime left off.
Are you looking forward to more Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress?
