Sunrise announced that Code Geass will be getting a sequel anime project titled Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection. The story will take place several years after Lelouch's "Zero Requiem" plan to bring an era of peace. However, Sunrise did not reveal if the project will be a TV series, OVA, or a movie.
Despite the events of "Zero Requiem" the staff revealed [highlight for spoilers: that the Lelouch from the previous two seasons will return and not a clone.]
A compilation movie trilogy of the first two Code Geass seasons was also announced at the event. The voice cast will re-record all of their lines and the movie will feature brand new scenes. The vocal replacement for Tanaka Kazunari (voice of Shinichirou Tamaki), who passed away in October 2016, was not revealed.
This first compilation movie will hit Japanese theaters in 2017. A premier date for Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection will be announced at a later time.
