Shaft released a new promo video for Owarimonogatari, revealing that the series will be a two-day special. The special will air on August 12 and August 13.
The anime is adapting the third and final Owarimonogatari book, which includes the “Mayoi Hell,” “Hitagi Rendezvous,” and “Ougi Dark” arcs. According to a September 2015 interview, series producer Atsuhiro Iwakami claimed the scenario for the adaptation was already written, but the staff was deciding on the best way to air the anime.
Shaft previously adapted the first two Owarimonogatari books in 2015, and the team has been working on the Kizumonogatari trilogy of movies.
Once Owarimonogatari is adapted, Shaft will only have to work on Zokumonogatari to bring anime fans the “Final Season” of the series. No plans have been announced so far.
But rest easy Monogatari fans! Series creator NisiOisin is working on a new book, titled Shinobumonogatari, which will kick off the “Monster Season.” The new season will revolve around a 23-year-old Koyomi Araragi, who works as a police officer.
Still, are you excited for the upcoming Owarimonogatari special?
