New ‘Full Metal Panic!’ Anime Delayed Until Spring 2018

It’s been confirmed that Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory has been delayed until the Spring 2018 season. The new season was originally planned for the Fall 2017 season, but it has been postponed due to the production team adding new members and the “high level of capability” needed to produce Invisible Victory.

Full Metal Panic!

Full Metal Panic! is a rom-com mecha light novel series written by Shoji Gatoh and illustrated by Shiki Dōji. The series follows Sousuke Sagara, a young member of a covert private military organization called Mithril, and Kaname Chidori, a high school student whose father works for the United Nations. Sousuke is tasked with attending high school in order to protect Kaname, but he is socially inept and treats every situation as a military task.

Full Metal Panic! so far has three anime adaptation. Gonzo animated the first season and Kyoto Animation animated the second season. Kyoto Animation also developed a spin-off titled Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu which plays up the comedy aspects of the series. Xebec (Fafner in the Azure) is animating Invisible Victory.
