Kadokawa unleashed a new trailer for Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Oath Under Snow, which revealed that the movie will premiere on August 26 in Japanese theaters.
The upcoming movie is going to have a darker tone compared to the previous four entries in the spin-off series. Oath Under Snow will center around Shirou and Miyu. Five years prior to the movie, Shirou took Miyu into his old household and they have been living like siblings, but their peaceful life is shattered after Julian’s appearance. Miyu was once known as the Child of God and could grant any wish, which is a power Julian seeks. With the world’s end approaching, Miyu must make a sacrifice worthy of the Holy Grail, but Illya is foolish enough to try to save both Miyu and the world.
Silver Link is returning to produce the theatrical film, which will be directed by Shin Oonuma (director of Fate/kaleid season 1) and written by Hazuki Minase (C³ creator).
The Fate/kaleid series is a spin-off manga created by Hiroshi Hiroyama. It re-imagines the Fate universe as a magical girl-type series that centers around Illyasviel von Einzbern as an ordinary elementary school student. One night, the magical Kaleidostick Ruby forsakes Rin Tohsaka and deems Illya as a more suitable master. Now, Illya must use Ruby’s power to collect the Seven Class cards before they fall into the wrong hands.
