The official website for Cardcaptor Sakura began streaming the first trailer for the upcoming Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc Prologue: Sakura and the Two Bears (Card Capture Sakura Clear Card-hen Prologue: Sakura to Futatsu no Kuma) anime.
The anime is an original story that serves as a bridge between the “Sakura Card Arc” and “Clear Card Arc.” The “Sakura Card Arc” was part of the 1998 anime adaptation, while “Clear Card Arc” will be getting an adaptation in 2018.
Cardcaptor Sakura is a manga created by CLAMP and is considered on of the best shoujo manga from the late ’90s. The story follows Sakura Kinomoto, a 10-year-old girl who accidently unleashes the mystical Clow Cards. Since the cards pose a great danger to the world, a guardian named Kerberos tasks Sakura with finding the scattered cards.
The upcoming “Clear Card Arc” will take place after the first anime, and follows [highlight for spoilers: Sakura and friends graduate to Junior High. Everyone is finally together in a new school but a new adventure is set in motion after Sakura has a mysterious dream with clear cards and person she’s never met before. The manga features the line “When all cards are aligned, that’s not the ending, that is the beginning of the ending”. This indicates that the Clear Card arc might be the finale for Cardcaptor Sakura.]
Sakura and the Two Bears will be bundled with the third volume of the Clear Card Arc manga on September 13, 2017. The anime, along with the adaptation of Clear Card Arc, will be adapted by Madhouse and will feature returning staff and voice cast in the previous roles.
