Junji Ito’s Horror Manga is Getting an Anime

Get ready for a heavy dose of fear, because one of Junji Ito’s horror stories is getting an anime adaptation!

The announcement was made on “Junji Ito’s Haunted House,” but the title of the adaptation wasn’t revealed. Ito is known as one of the masters of horrors, but on Gyo has been turned into anime. Several of his works have been adapted into live-action horror movies.

Ito’s works tend to focus on body horror, mental decay, the inevitability of death, the breakdown of society, and spirals. Some of Ito’s most popular works are Tomie (a series about an immortal girl who drives her admirers crazy), Uzumaki (about a town plagued with a curse involving spirals), and Gyo (about fish controlled by sentient bacteria).
