‘Himouto! Umaru-chan’ is Getting a New Manga Series

Everyone’s favorite otaku sister is rising from the ashes! Sankaku Head is set to launch a new Himouto! Umaru-chan manga on November 30th. Publisher Shueisha is calling it a “level up” that will continue “a little while longer.”

Three weeks ago, Shueisha announced that Himouto! Umaru-chan was coming to an end. After the final chapter was published, Sankaku Head teased fan on Twitter that a “sequel or follow-up” is in the works. After the tease gained steam, it was announced that Himouto! Umaru-chan G will launch on November 30th.

The first Himouto! Umaru-chan has been serialized since 2013 and has 3 million copies in print. It follows Umaru Doma, who appears to be the perfect high school student. However, there is a secret only her older brother knows: Umaru is an extreme otaku! Umaru can be a little bratty while in otaku mode, but she and her brother learn how to work things out.

A two-season anime adaptation has been produced by Doga Koba and three spin-off manga has been created.
