Aniplex’s High School Fleet (Haifuri) is getting a new anime movie. The movie’s teaser highlights scenes from the TV anime and OVAs, but the project will feature an all-new story.
Aniplex will share more details about the movie at a later time, but it wasn’t the only High School Fleet related project that was revealed.
A “naval battle game” app titled High School Fleet: Kantai Battle de Pinch! will launch later this year and pre-registration is currently live. Aniplex hasn’t announced if they will release an international version of the mobile game app. A pachislot game was also revealed.

Aniplex also announced that a Blu-ray box set will be released to commemorate the anime’s second anniversary. High School Fleet aired during the spring 2016 season and became one the year’s biggest hits – the anime’s original run averaged 7,891 sales per volume.
High School Fleet is an original sci-fi series that follows a group of young girls joining the Blue Mermaids, which is a naval group that protects Japan’s coastline and sea routes. Akeno and her classmates form the crew of the destroyer Harekaze, but an incident finds them accused of mutiny. The girls do their best running Harekaze will escaping pursuit and finding the truth.
A-1 Pictures produced the 12-episode anime and 2 OVAs. They will return to animate the movie.
